I like experimenting with this technique.

This painting idea came to me while "watching", more like glancing, you know how sometimes you're not really paying attention but things catch you eye. Anyways, a movie called "Sophie's choice" with Meryl Streep. I commented to my mother at how ugly she was in this movie and how she looks much better when she's older. But some of the scenes in this movie were really beautiful and the way she was all gussied up and stuff I loved. So I snapped a few photos of one of the scenes and used it as a reference. I didn't want it to end up looking like her though so I wasn't trying to be perfect in a portrait study or what not. I also changed her hair color to better suit my needs. In the middle of doing the hair while it was like a blondish brown, I was like shit, it looks like Madonna. haha. But anyways, I changed those things and I also wanted her too look as if she was from the victorian era. A couple of problems with that. I don't think that they wore there hair like that back then and I don't know if the cameos that they wore on their necks were a coral color. I've seen them obviously in coral because my reference photo was a coral colored one, but the cameos that i've seen in pictures that are attached to the ladies necks have black backgrounds. Oh well though. I'm quite happy with how the background turned out with the woods and all. Even though after I finished with the deer I was like shit, so cliche. But I guess most everything everybody does nowadays is cliche.

Wow, sorry. But this is a painting about a victorian lady who grew antlers as a child or something. And all of the people around her dislike her for them. The first things I thought of and wrote down were: "Her antlers were a problem...they looked down at her like she had a birth defect and they made her fel like a deer. Maybe if she didn't graze with the others, they wouldn't be a problem." I love the writing side of my creativity. The only thing I thought about though is that she couldn't have been born with antlers...well she could have I guess, but i'm worried about the mother! Maybe that's another reason why people despise her though, the death of her mother? Again I would love to write a short story about this. The whole thing about maybe if she didn't graze with the others, meaning that she grazes with the deer...her only true friends, they, meaning the antlers, wouldn't be a problem.
